How to work with seventh chords tables of full chromatic system. Skip to search through tables.

In the case when the functions’ boundary for the pieces of melodies defined and the only thing to do is to choose a suitable chord, you should use the main search box «Search melody & chord ...». If you are not already logged into search, then go to the proposed link above.

Search of chord by the sounds of melody is realized by inputs these sounds into the main search box (Enter characters ...). You should remember that in the search window it is not necessary to enter the chromatic sounds, but use the basic sounds of the harmony.

No need to type sounds in the familiar for all alphabetic form like A, B, C, D ... The search is set up on an absolute scale, in which there is no place for enharmonically sounds’ replace and where the enharmonic sharps and flats are denoted by one symbol. Absolute scale is displayed in the form of a keyboard in the picture above the search form. When you type in the search box, use the delimiter (a space). Enter the names of the notes, as indicated in the figure. For example: K n P S.

Searches can be conducted within 24 tonalities, but you can limit the choice of a particular tone (key, tonality) by the choice of chord parameters down to the exact evidence (root of chord and the suffix of chord) or by the maximum number of common sounds between the fret and chord (common sounds).

The more sounds you enter into the main search box, the fewer variants is offered for choosing. And upside down, the less sound you enter, the more variants is offered. Search Filters: key, tonality, root of chord, suffix of chord, common sounds - essentially narrow the selection by pointing it at solving specific creative tasks.

In jazz, a change of functions can occur often, so the choice of chords is very wide (due to the small amount of input notes). The search algorithm will offer a lot of interesting variants for harmonization. You just have to try and pick your favorite. It will be enough sound colors and there will not be difficulties with a lot of key characters. The software search will be richer and faster.
